I have a 2 X 6 with a homemade arch and 6"stove pipe. Made 18 gallons from 200 taps and burned about one cord of mixed firewood. Boiled around 20 gallons per hour.

Could have around 500 taps and another 100 a few years out. Have not seen a used 2 X 8 or 30" X 8 lead free, within 300 miles and priced right in two years. Thinking about going new in the spring. Anyone just go threw this?? If so

1. Is three a big price different from 2 X 8 or 30" X 8??

2. A friend who made 35 gallons last year said he burn 4 cords of pine pine on a 2X8. Does that sound right.

I am going to start talking to dealers soon so looking for some input. I do work so between nights and weekend 40 hours of boiling is it

I have a 2x8 Leader drop flue with 5' flue pan, preheater and inferno arch and I average close to 60 gph with startup and shutdown and I average around 17 gallon of syrup to a cord of hardwood with a sugar content around 50 to 1 ratio.

Go as big as you can, get a 30x8 or a 3x8 if you can afford it, you can't get too big.

No, just a regular 2x8 welded drop flue with 5' flue pan. Not sure what it will do this year as I have a new high pressure blower with a 1hp motor and an air over fire system. Hoping not to lose any gph, but will know in a few weeks.
