Insulating the evaporator

Has anyone every insulated their evap pans to attempt to keep as much heat in for the boil rather than it radiating out to the room???

Insulating the pans or the arch? Insulating the arch is common, almost standard procedure these days, but I do not know of anyone insulating around pans. There are many posts about insulation in the evaporator and homemade sections of the Mapletrader.

I think is has been experimented with a little in the past but the results have been minor, so it is probably not worth the trouble especially with syrup spillage and other issues that would cause it to get dirty.
