Thank you.... Time has come around and I am excited but more importantly so is my youngest son... Last year was our 1st and thanks to all you folks it was not our last... We have done apple cider for almost 2 decades as a family and now we will tally up the years for maple syrup... I mentioned it last week and my son perked up with " I am ready "... Let the sap flow... Tom

Cool, nice to see the family traditions contiuing on. I hope that one or all of my little sap haulers gets bite by the syrup bug to.

Hi Innoxen and welcome ---- Good to have your son interested too. Making Apple Cider would be an interesting thing to try --- Do You get into making cider vinegar or hard cider? -- guess I'm getting off topic -- Any how -- welcome to the --lol-- Sweet and wonderful world of maple syrup making --- Mike

Well you are never off topic when it comes to family things.. And Yes, a little hard apple for me and 40+ gallons for family and sum friends... Sept./Oct is apple crazy times... lol... If you are ever curious about it ask.... Have a great season Tom....

here it is. This will be the first year that i will be there. somethinf always pops up, but my brother and father have been several times.

The full schedule of Saturday maple workshops along with descriptions is now available. The 2011 Maple Conference will be held in the same great location, the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School in Verona, New York on Friday evening January 7th and all day Saturday, January 8th. This central location provides plenty of meeting space for over 30 different training sessions as well as the best Maple Trade Show anywhere on earth.

The conference kicks off Friday evening with the Maple Trade Show open from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, your choice of speakers at 7:00 PM followed directly by the second annual auction of maple equipment and supplies. The full Saturday schedule is listed below. It starts at 9:00 AM with lots of trade show time allotted.

Advanced registration is $13 for Friday night only, $25 for Saturday only, or $34 for both Friday and Saturday, due December 15th. At the door registration cost for Friday is $15 Saturday $30. Registration includes admittance to trade show, all workshops, light meal Friday evening, Saturday continental breakfast, and all-you-can-eat luncheon buffet. It all happens at the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill (V.V.S.) High School, Verona, New York, the conference is sponsored by the V.V.S. FFA, New York State Maple Producers Association, Cornell Maple Program and Cornell Cooperative Extension. The V.V.S. High School is located between Utica and Syracuse, New York on State Route 31 just two minutes from NYS Thruway Exit 33. For additional information contact V.V.S. FFA advisor Keith Schiebel at kschiebel@vvsschools.org. Registration forms are available at the New York State Maple Producers Website: www.nysmaple.com or the Cornell Maple Program website: cornellmaple.com. To register maple items for the auction, write out a description of the equipment and return to Keith by December 17th. Information on auction items will be made available via email request after December 28th. Auction service fee will be 10% of auction price paid by the seller.

Hi Al,

Sorry did not get back to you sooner.... Had to work this weekend and could not go to Verona... I am going to pencil it in for next year and hope to make a trip up... Might try to sqeeze in a trip south to farm show this weekend... and get out to the Wellsboro area for their maple weekend... Keep me posted if you can and thanks.... Tom
