#10 wire max amps

I've installed my 100 amp permanent feed to the SH and now I have my temporary feed leftover. It's a stranded 10/3 wire. What's the amperage rating for this wire? I'd like to reuse it to run my RO room...250 gph RO, wash tank heater, light, and small space heater...probably not all running at the same time. Can this line be reused to feed the room?

The amp rating of the 250 RO is 25 amps, is this startup amps or running amps and if it's startup amps, what are the running amps?

#10 wire in the form of UF or NM cables are only rated for 60c rating thus reducing there amp load. 10 wire in this type of cable is rated for 30 amps. But if you run over 3 hrs of constant load you must derate to 80% so now the rating is at 24 amps continuos load. As far as the 25amp rating on the RO this normal run load. Inrush current will be 5-6 times higher than fulload current draw. I would run #8 copper to this load using UF or NM cables. If you were to run pipe and wire THHN #10 rated 75c you could run this load safely because of the insulation values and using the exceptions in artical 230 of the NEC.

On your motor there should be a tag that has FLA (full load amps)25 sounds to high to to be fla.Check the motor and if you are under 20 fla 10 wire is more than sufficient.

The writing on the wire coating says 40C, so I guess the wire is not adequate to run the RO room.

What size wire do I need for a 60 amp feed? This should be adequate for a 600 RO, wash tank, heater, and light. Is it #4 wire? I'd probably run BX cable so it matches everything else I ran in the SH.

With out my code book in front of me I am going to tell you #6 copper is good for 65 amps. But it also depends on the insulation of the wire like it was mentioned in above response. Typical nm,bx, uf should all be good for it, using UF inside a building other than a barn is pointless as far as I am concerned.
