Went up to camp today to plow out check out the sugar house found I had a dead mouse in the new feed tank with some droppings scatter round too. So I know I don't want to introduce soap into my feed tank what is the best way of cleaning such a situation?

My choice would likely be bleach & water with lots of rinsing after. See paragraph C.2.11 on this maple safety & health site from Ontario;

Good thing it wasn't in season, you would've had to wring out the mouse! ;)

yeah just a good scrub and sanitize with bleach 50-100 PPM which is about a cap full per gallon of water. and let it sit for abit then rinse several times.

just wipe it with a damp cloth. forget the bleach/rinse.
you're going to boil the sap for a few hours. ;) as long as the "visuals" are removed, there's not much to worry about.

I would think that the usual cleaning you do before the season would take care of it. Assuming you clean it.
