Is their any limit to how far the vac pump should be away from the releaser ,i need to put the pump about 300-400 ft away from the releaser.
My releaser is about 1700' from my pump. Make sure line is big enough. I ran 1 1/4 for about 1000 taps.

I have several remote releasers that are 12 to 1800 feet from the vacuum pump. I use 1 and 1/4 inch black plastic air line to transfer the vacuum. No problems. One remote releaser serves 1200 taps and the other 600.

1 and quarter inch will work in your case. I personally like larger then that but sometimes I understand that finances get in the way. One thing that will make your releaser work alot faster is to store some vacuum just before going into the releaser. I have used a couple 10 foot lengths of 4 inch pvc just before going into the unit and it will really make it cycle alot faster and not have as large a vacuum surge on the system either.

400' is no problem. One of our releasers is 2000' from the pump - that bush is 900 taps (and counting). Don't skimp on the dryline and you'll be fine.

How would you size the pipe from the pump to the releaser? Is it tap count, distance between pump and releaser or size of pump? Or is it all of the above?
I would size the pump to the bush, then size the vac transfer line to the pump.
I cant help with the first but may be able to help with the second..
