A little fall tapping

We Tapped 6 trees and this morning I had one of my sons go collect the sap from them. Most of it was ice but poured off the concentrate and did a little kitchen boil. Got enough syrup for the six kids to have it on there pancakes! Now that was great. Enough to perk everyones intrest oh and the smell is something we all miss.

These 6 trees are not in an area that we are going to tap in the spring and this is small so no real production just some good fall family fun.

I've always thought about tapping a couple of trees in the fall and boiling the sap in a pot on the woodburner in place of the water that we boil on there for a humidifier. Maybe if I was home all weekend, continually adding to it from time to time.

Jason, What, do you have a Blackberry to access mapletrader 24/7, or what guy? You are addicted to maple syrup my friend. I had to check myself in once or twice. I fall off the wagon every February and March.
